Avon Graphics, embellishment processes do not affect the recyclability of a substrate.
Embossing is the ideal embellishment process in terms of recyclability because no extra material is added to the paper or board. Embossing simply changes the shape of the paper and board.
Foilstamped material is 100% recyclable when it is recovered as a post-consumer element in the kerbside paper recycling stream.
It is accepted and utilised by the two major Australian paperboard recyclers – Amcor and Visy.
Plastic film laminated material is accepted as a post-consumer element in the kerbside paper recycling stream, but the plastic film is extracted in the recycling screening process and it takes a proportion of the cellulose fibre that is adhered to it – and all of the fibre if it is laminated on both sides.
All of Avon Graphics waste materials are fully recycled including metals, laminating films, foil carriers, paper substrates and stretch wrapping.
